best song?

i just watched this film again last night after many years and "suppertime" really stands out for me, i love the background guitar weaving in and out of the lyrics.

My favorite song is definitely 'dentist'. Just because it's so over the top and delivered perfectly by Steve Martin. But all the songs are great.

I've always loved 'Skid Row', but I love them all really. Best musical ever.

I like almost every song in the movie except Somewhere That's Green. I always found the song (and the scene) boring.

Anyway my top 3 are:
Feed Me (Git It)
Suppertime
Suddenly Seymour

"Perhaps we can learn a lesson from this tragedy like don't steal and don't be disturbed."

reply

I have to go with skid row as well

Skid Row.

Some fun now.

Lot of good bass playing in nearly all the songs.

Suddenly Seymour had great vocals.

Skid Row is my favorite.

For me, Skid Row, Suddenly Seymour, Feed Me, and Little Shop of Horrors.

reply

The Dentist Song and Skid Row. They're all good in this one, though.

I've changed my mind five times while thinking about responding to this. It's such a great soundtrack.
The title song is amazing, "Downtown" was the one I would sing over and over, "Suppertime" is just wonderful, I love how "Suddenly Seymour" explodes, and Levi in "Mean Green Mother from Outer Space" is glorious.
So I still can't pick, but love and agree with everyone's posts.

I like the song Seymore was singing to Audrey II and the song Audrey and Seymore sung together.

'Mean Green Mother.' The quasi-gospel sound is infectious, and the lyrics are very clever.

I sing it at karaoke, now and then, and it usually gets a big reaction (I won't say whether the reaction is good or bad; just big).
