Could’ve been called Second Chances

I think the underlying theme in this movie is second chances. Nearly every story line in this movie is about a second chance. First, Cletus gives his old friend Norm a second chance by asking him to coach Hickory. Norm gives the two kids that he kicked off the team at the first practice a second chance by letting them return to the team. Norm gives Shooter a second chance by asking him to be an assistant coach. To a certain degree Everett gives his father, Shooter, another chance by excepting him back into his good graces. Cletus suffers a near fatal heart attack but does not die, in essence he is given a second chance at life. Just when you thought Norm is sent packing at the Townhall meeting, Jimmy arrives and saves the day, giving coach Norm a second chance. Obviously Myra gives Norm a second chance by not reading the letter at the Townhall meeting.
