Top Five Favorite Woody Allen Films!

Okey, now that I've said my piece about this film here they are in order:
1) Hannah and Her Sisters
2) Broadway Danny Rose
3) Manhattan
4) Sweet and Lowdown ( love this one )
5) Purple Rose of Ciro

anybody else....?

reply

No particular order, because that would be too hard:

Hannah and Her Sisters
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Midnight in Paris
Everyone Says I Love You
Purple Rose of Cairo

It's so hard to leave Annie Hall and Manhattan off the list, but it would be a copout if I tried to say, "Oh, it's a three-way tie for fifth." So this is my list.

Subject to change, but here's mine right now:

1. Manhattan Murder Mystery

3. Scoop
4. Annie Hall
5. Manhattan

I've seen all of his films (except for September, Cassandra's Dream and What's Up, Tiger Lily) and rewatched plenty of them multiple times. I just happen to have rewached Hannah and Her Sisters about an hour ago and it's even more perfect than I remember it to be. Exceptional film.

This would probably be my Top 5 right now, but I'm sure some other rewatches could shake it up again:

1) Crimes and Misdemeanors
2) Stardust Memories
3) Manhattan
4) Hannah and Her Sisters
5) Bullets Over Broadway

reply

1) play it again, sam
2) bananas
3) love & death
4) deconstructing harry
5) hannah & her sisters

I love Manhattan too, but these days to mention it makes people think you are pedophile or harasser or something. Oh, but that was posted 15 years ago ... a totally different world.
