Why did they go for campy comedy over horror?

They began mocking themselves in this film, with the silly James Bond opening, silly comical music for characters, leaving the serious tone.

Shame they began turning the series into a joke kind like Nightmare on elm street.

Sweety, the story in this franchise made no sense from day one, movie one. It was always braindead and ridiculous. They never explained much or elaborated on the backstory of Jason, his life or abilities. Much was completely up to opportunism and what they could add on as they extended the series. It never made sense. The comedic tone is truly suited for this reason.

I've seen this movie called 'PG Jason'. It has the least gore out of them all, I think.

This movie is far less of a joke than the amateurish first movie and all of the other sequels.

If you think this is campy, you don't know what camp means.

Have you even seen the previous F13th sequel before this one?

The formula got played out over 5 films. They got serious again in part 7.

Although the MPAA didn't like that seriousness with Part VII.
