why never an avenging force 2?

i just think that after the first ended that they would have made a sequel, does anyone know why not? or was it made under a different name?

The film is actually a sequel itself (kind of) to Invasion U.S.A. starring Chuck Norris as Matt Hunter but I prefer Avenging Force, one of my favourite action movies, especially the kick-ass music! Yeah a sequel would have been great (and quite frankly I'd love to direct it myself!). If you love this film also check out Revenge Of The Ninja. First martial arts movie I ever saw and it had one Hell of an effect on me! see www.left4dead.co.uk and www.fixersthemovie.co.uk for proof.

I did't realize that Chuck Norris' character in invasion USA was named Matt Hunter... I'll have to go back and watch it again.

However they did leave AV wide open for a part two... Sucks that they didn't make a second one!

reply

Maybe because the Cannon group went out of business! So I've heard.

reply

Yeah because no one knew who the 5th member of Pentangle was which had to be Matt Hunter's CIA boss played by James Booth. He was the reason why Pentangle was able to get inside intel on Steve James' location and everything.

reply

Indeed and it is truly a shame that James Booth passed away recently. He was great in so many films. I love this film, so glad to have it on DVD now.

reply

So sad, now there will never be made a sequel.. :o( - unless somebody in the future finds a way to make a movie using only sort of computer-animation that looks like real people... oh, wait a minute, somebody already knows how to do that, why aren't they on this movie already!!? Don't make 'A Scanner Darkly', make Avenging Force 2: The rise and fall of the PENTANGLE!

Besides, Dudikoff could use a comeback.

reply

I heard James booth was doing anime voiceover before he passed away.

reply

we all agree with you WHY wasn't love this movie so much I think the 5th memeber was his boss.

GOOD QUESTION CONSIDERING THAT IT DID PRETTY GOOD AT THE BOX OFFICE,ESPECIALLY FOR A CANNON FILM.

reply

The ending meant that a sequel was coming soon. I was expecting the sequel too. But I think it is too late.

reply

It only made 4-million. How is that good? Cannon may not have been able to compete with the major studios, but many of their films were quite successful. You clearly don't understand what you're posting.

reply

It only made four million at the box office, so clearly this film wasn't a big enough hit to warrant a sequel.

This almost seemed like a a sequel to American Ninja too (yes I know there WAS an actual American Ninja II) with the pairing of Dudikoff and Steve James. If I recall there's even a scene showing a photo of the two in their army fatigues. The photo looks like a still shot of the two from American Ninja! lol

reply

Yeah, this had an American Ninja 2 vibe.
