Thank you! This movie is a cult classic and it worked in a very 1980s way. I don't see how it could work in the present-day, and I don't want to see an update for 2012; suddenly there'll be drugs and weapons dealers and drive-bys in it because they'll say that nobody will "get" the idea of black people marking territory in neighborhoods with or for the sake of kung fu supremacy alone; there will have to be some other "more realistic" motivation. The whole idea of a remake just sucks, and when you add in the casting of Rihanna, who can't act but has name recognition, you can already see that the whole thing is headed in the wrong direction. The original production had heart, even if it wasn't polished; this is going to be a soulless piece of sh*t with massive production values, and it's going to be terrible.
