A remake?

It's about time they remade it.


But couldn't they remake it with actors people respect?


Are they going to have Chris Brown be the villain? Because that's the only way the story would work with her in it.


Maybe if they had someone, like Alicia Keys would it be okay.

But Rihanna?

i totally agree with you on that. i just got done watching this movie and making a remake is a bad idea. i wouldn't go see it either way b/c i only watch remakes if they come on tv but that's not the point. When people do a remake they try to make it based on the original that's fine but then they just start changing things and its just gonna be something totally different by the time its over and i know i'll hate it. I mean I know remakes aren't supposed to be exactly the same but when they do happen i'm the type of person who can't help but compare the two and that's what messes you up when you like the original better. It's like what they did with that newer version of Carrie in 2002, i like the sequal better so some movies you shouldn't remake. if i saw 2 versions of the same movie, the whole time i would be thinking was that did i see that in the first one and then i won't enjoy it. I wouldn't mind if it was a sequal to say what happened after this movie because trying to bring an 80s movie out in 2010 is crazy. I haven't heard any new stuff just that it's in development on here so i hope whoever's making this thing changes their mind.

Thank you! This movie is a cult classic and it worked in a very 1980s way. I don't see how it could work in the present-day, and I don't want to see an update for 2012; suddenly there'll be drugs and weapons dealers and drive-bys in it because they'll say that nobody will "get" the idea of black people marking territory in neighborhoods with or for the sake of kung fu supremacy alone; there will have to be some other "more realistic" motivation. The whole idea of a remake just sucks, and when you add in the casting of Rihanna, who can't act but has name recognition, you can already see that the whole thing is headed in the wrong direction. The original production had heart, even if it wasn't polished; this is going to be a soulless piece of sh*t with massive production values, and it's going to be terrible.

If it ain't broke... This is such a terrible idea, it's like people are too lazy to come up with something original. The movie is such a classic they need to leave it alone, I don't care who is on board RZA, Rihanna, Sam Jackson etc... A remake would be an insult.

The orignal is great and but this remake idea sounds like a weed influenced project and will probably suck balls unless they get the right people involved. Having some rappers and singers star in it because they 'love the original' won't be doing any justice whatsoever to the original. These personal love projects usually end up stinking. RZA, if he's the guy behind would be better off campaining to get an anniversary DVD edition of the original produced and mass advertised. Depending on who's directing this remake it could turn out to be a decent film, but I doubt it.

I would like to see them remake this... only this time make it a decent film. The original was'nt great and having watched it fairly recently i would say it does'nt stand the time either.
