Compared to the other kids in detention that day, Brian was THE BRAIN!!!! ππππππ
shareHey you!!!
I was one of 'the dopes' in shop class and I can build a cassette tape holder and a birdhouse like you've never seen!!
I'm deeply offended:(
JK...It was mostly us dopes they stuck in shop...the kids that got caught smoking, fighting or cheating on tests lol
I can build you a great napkin holder though...it'll cost you 10 bucks and me one pinky in that goddamned bandsawπ
There are all kinds of smarts. Brian was obviously very book smart. He excelled at physics an trigonometry. He was more of a thinker than a doer.
But I totally agree that we need people who excelled in shop class. I have a brother-in-law who barely graduated high school. Not book smart at all. But he can fix anything, put together anything and build anything.
He has fixed my car, repaired my furnace, put together big bookcases, etc. He lugged home a broken washing machine that someone gave him and fixed it for my sister. When I need something done, I don't think to myself, Gee I need someone who can do trigonometry. haha I want someone who has actual, practical skills.
I was just joking around with sivagish but yup, when something breaks you're going to pay someone good money to fix it!
Sounds like you have a good brother in law
Oh I figured you were kidding. But birds need houses too. LOL
I've carried that thought even further. We often pay way too much tribute and respect to politicians also. But when your toilet is overflowing, you don't say, "Gotta call my Congressman!" ha ha
My dad was a plumber and he got plenty of calls in the middle of winter, late at night from people whose furnaces had conked out. The working class, blue collar types just don't get the respect they deserve. And they're the ones who actually make the country function!
Well put
