What if "Back to the Future" took place in 1990?

What would it be like if Marty traveled from 2020 to 1990. What would be Doc's reaction to hearing that Donald Trump was president in 2020? What would he think about seeing footage of his older self on a smart phone? What song would Marty play to shock the teens of 1990?

Donald Trump the real estate investor? Then who's vice president, Conrad Hilton?

What would he think about seeing footage of his older self on a smart phone?
"What good is it? All I see is 'No Internet' "

What song would Marty play to shock the teens of 1990?
It wasn't the song that was shocking. It was having the ultra loud noise directly in his ears threatening to melt his brain that was shocking. A better question would be: what would they wake someone with in 1990 that would make them believe you were an evil galactic tyrant who will melt their brain if they don't ask their crush to prom?

You really can't swap the years or move the thing forward or backwards. The reason the film works is because of the very specific cultural divide between pre and post 60s and 70s America. Other eras separated by 30 years obviously have differences, but nothing like what came between the 50s and 80s. The whole culture coming to embrace (relatively) harsh music, open drug use, sexuality being flaunted, the cynicism of the Vietnam war and the rebounding of 80s pop sensibilities. There's this chasm there that is culturally deeper than even 9/11 and the internet. Kind of a culture going through its one time puberty.
