Small Wonder or Seinfeld?

Which was the better sitcom? Like if you had to take only one show to a different planet, which would it be of the two?

Are you out of your mind?

Small Wonder! I hate Seinfeld with a passion.

reply

Seinfeld was never funny.

reply

I haven't seen SW in over 10 years. But I can't imagine this being funnier than Seinfeld. No way.

Small Wonder! Without a doubt, no questions asked. There are a million shows like Seinfeld, but Small Wonder was one of a kind.

Now, only if ALL seasons of Small Wonder were to make it onto DVD so that I could take the COMPLETE series to that other planet!

There is no God. Free yourself from the oppression of religion.

Not related but...

There is no God. Free yourself from the oppression of religion.

I always hated how militant Atheists have this overwhelmign need to attack Theism, and despite how they always say they are smarter than everyone else, know more, and use reason, always get the facts wrong.

For one thing, this sentence basically conflates Theism with Religion. Religion, beleif in God, is oppression, and becoming an Athist frees us form that Oppression.

Do you know how stupid this sounds?

For one thing, Religion is not the same thing as beleif in God. Being an Atheist doesn't make you non-religious. In fact, no one is Non-Religius. Religion is simply a set of beliefs about the nature of our existance. Religion is also not in and of itself oppression.

Nor is Theism. Which I remind you, Theism, that is, beleif in God, is not the same thing as Religion. Nor is beleif in Gods existance oppression. In fact, Atheists have been far more oppressive to us, just look at the Soviet Union. No jabber about them not committign attrocitiess int he name of Atheism. When they killed Churchgoers for no reason other than to create an Atheistic State they were killing over Atheism.

One last thing, God does exist, so you are wrong.

That said, if I coudl only take one show, it wouldn't be Eiher Seinfeild or This. It'd be somehting like Gundam Wing.

Religion is simply a set of beliefs about the nature of our existance.

That is not what religion is. Religion requires beliefs based on faith or authority, usually with that belief being that there is a god of some sort. Saying "no one is Non-Religius [sic]" is just plain wrong.

One last thing, God does exist, so you are wrong.

Well then, prove it.

To the OP: this is a silly topic. You're asking if we like 1 1980's show better than 1 90's show. The 80's and 90's were different periods.

Small Wonder was from 1985 to 1989. That's far more 80's than Seinfeld which ran from late 89 to 99. That spanned all the 90's = 1990 to 1999.

you cannot call Seinfeld an 80's show at all. The references made in the run of the show were all 90's culture references. you can tell that it's the 90's on the show where as Small Wonder you can tell it's the 80's.

And I love both shows. The differences though are too great. Seinfeld was a comedy for adults, not for kids. Small wonder was clearly made for family entertainment and children's entertainment. It was a kids' show

reply

Both are wonderful, but I'll choose "Seinfeld". "Small Wonder" is a great series though, so cheesy and funny.

You can mention Corn flakes, I'll think of Marilyn Monroe

Well it was a KID'S SHOW. People seem to forget that. The lead stars were actually Tiffany Brissette and Jamie Supiran, who were kids/minors from 1985 to 1989. Kids tuned in to see what fantastic thing Vicki would do next. It's very much a part of 80's kids' culture.

You can't say that about Seinfeld. When Seinfeld was on TV, I remember it was mainly watched by adults. I didn't even see it and I was already a teenager in the 90's. I heard "college" students in their early 20's and people in their 30's talk about the show. The humor in Seinfeld is too adult. They do a lot of sex jokes - the infamous "contest" about which of them could go the longest without masturbating.

Comparing Small Wonder to Seinfeld are like comparing apples to oranges. One's an 80's kid's show the other a 90's adult comedy show.

reply

There's no comparison.
Small Wonder all the way!!

reply

Really? Well, if i have to choose only one, i pick Seinfeld by far!!!
