Christopher Lloyd's performance.......

He's brilliant in this. Anyone else agree? I've read some reviews of this movie that say he was a let down after Ricardo Montalban in ST II and that he didnt make for a convincing Klingon but i honestly think that Lloyd - along with John Colicos - played the greatest Klingon ever.

reply

Every time I watch this I think Lloyd makes a very poor Klingon. For me it's his voice and the way he carries himself.

reply

I always thought when Kruge says "put him on screen", he sounded like Rocky.

reply

Lloyd was hammy and a bad actor in this movie.
His accent was more like Jim the drunk on Taxi

reply

Yes. Totally ineffectual and miscast. Worse than ineffectual - the performance actually plummets into cartoonish Pirate Parody because of the egregiously inept miscasting.

reply

I for one thought Christopher Lloyd's performance was outstanding. He was a great villain in my opinion. It's mostly because of his performance that I love this movie so much.

reply

I could not take the Klingons seriously until Star Trek VI -
In the 60's shows they looked like Indian dudes with goatees...
Also they speak alot of english and not klingon amoung themselves in this

reply

Yeah I just loved his line delivery.

He was great. I've always thought of him as one of the smartest Klingons. He might not have the brawn of the others, but he's managed to get to the position he's in with his cunning and smarts.

reply

I thought he was great.

I guess he was a letdown after Montalban, but no one could have topped that. As far as Klingons go, he was a great villain.

reply

Christopher Lloyd was great despite having the similar mannerisms of reverend Jim from taxi in terms of the speaking voice.
