Comet makes bad hair!
As far as I could tell the real damage done by the comet
was in creating terrible hairstyles and clothes for the girls.

Strange that you say that because I personally prefer the way people wore their hair back then as opposed to now. Now, guys get almost all their hair cut off or have that short gelled out spiky thing going on. And the ladies have super straight, flat hair with no volume or wave. I think the popular hairstyles of the early 80's were awesome not to mention looking better on people. But hey, that's just me though.
I will admit that sometimes the hair was teased up too high on some folks though. That didn't look too good, especially if they didn't have naturally wavy or curly hair. And also "Mullets" were awful but that style didn't really become popular until the later 80's.
