It's about throwing off greed, selfishness, and the kind of self-twisted myopia that Scrooge had. The spirit of the Christmas season is one of kindness, togetherness, a bond between mankind, and sharing. That is what's going on with a lot of the world today, but it isn't restricted to the UK or even geopolitics. It is applicable to almost everywhere and everyone; Dickens nailed it.
