Why didn't BBC pick this up after Goldcrest collapsed?

A highly successful show with fans was left to die off when their production company went under?

The BBC, super wealthy rival didn't think this winner was worth funding??

Interesting question. Can't say for sure but hadn't the viewing figures dropped post Praed? Maybe they didn't think it was worth a punt.

Otherwise not sure what the history was of the BBC picking up shows from the commercial station...
