I will be anal too and totally agree with this post. I too hate the new flashy CGI logos imposed onto old movies. I love the old Universal/MCA one as whenever I saw it as a kid it was always preceeding a great movie like Jaws, Duel, E.T. etc. I also liked the old United Artists logo on the Bond films and the Paramount one.
Are they going to mess with ones which were specially made? EG the "Smokey and The Bandit" logo which had the cars chasing around the Universal logo, or the "Indiana Jones" films where the Paramount logo changed into a mountain?
Particularly in this day and age where the studios want to capture the serious film collector with special blu-ray editions, the films should be shown EXACTLY as they were made without interference.
The most over the top logo has to be the Disney one which is a far cry from the classy white/blue silhouette they used to have.
Does "Police Academy" still have the "Ladd Company" green tree logo at the start?
