Which would you prefer?
I have always thought that once they made their millions Louis should have gone back for Penelope. Yeah, I know she was snobby and brushed Winthorpe off earlier, but she was a stunner and would have been a waste for that Todd ass hole to keep her!
Anyone else agree with that or do you think he was right in staying with Ophelia?

The way I see it, sometimes fate chooses for you. The minute Penelope mockingly calls him "Louie," you know he's Ophelia's guy forever. ;)

Does nobody realize that Penelope was a slut as well? Remember the a capella song about her and her friends at the private club? Yes, they were singing about her and her friends being slutty fotzen. This scene is intentional to show the audience what type of person Penelope really is. As for this so-called class you say she has, I don't think asking for sexy time in front of the butler would qualify as class. And, Penelope quickly hooked up with a new guy right after dropping Winthorpe.

If Whinthorpe can live with the fact that she banged many, many men for a living... then I'd say he made the right choice (considering she doesn't become like Penelope or screws around).
As far as looks goes, Penelope undoubtedly had a very stunning face, but Ophelia's body was to die for (holy smokes that "swedish" outfit!). Pick: uh, both.

If Penelope's wealth was tied in with her great uncles, the Dukes, then she may have lost it all as well. In that case, she might come crawling back to Winthorpe out of desperation.
Winthorpe could still marry Ophelia while keeping Penelope as the housemaid. Ophelia is a liberated woman and might go along with it.

sharethe only real difference between ophelia and penelope is that the former comes by her identity honestly. She therefore has the edge. Penelope likely has an incredibly slutty side to her shes clearly utilized to jump from one ivy-leaguer to another...Louis clearly goes for Penelope for that reason...but he's smart to recognize ophelia's heart of gold.

Ophelia is hot, but she is a stuck up snob. Louis changed as a person; she didn't. I don't think even he would consider going back to her after what she did. She and the others turned on Louis when he needed them most. My only disappointment is she never appeared in the film again. I would have loved to see her witness Louis' success. Chances are a lot of his former so called friends were probably laid off when Duke & Duke went under.
