I can imagine that the aunt should also be charged for having hidden the truth and having brought up Peter as a girl without his consent.
shareI agree lots of therapy would be needed for Peter. He would probably also be arrested after all the killings. The police might also question Aunt Martha as to why she would make Peter dress and act like a girl and/or be arrested for falsifying physical documents. Aunt Martha needs therapy as well. If Aunt Martha wanted a girl so badly, she could have just adopted a girl after her husband left her.
shareAngela/Peter definitely broke from whatever sanity she/he had at the end so they definitely would've had to fight them to let go of the knife and be put under arrest. They would have enough to lock them up for life if they wanted to do so, but I think they would get off due to insanity due to what all they went threw. Then it becomes a matter of mental treatment and finding the right gender out.. sequels suggest Peter wanted to stay as Angela, but given it's 1983 he'd probably stay as Peter unless they let him do the hormone treatments if the Aunt hadn't started them already. 4 sells the woman angle full on as despite being in the makeup Angela looks full on fem fatale while Pamela plays here more shy and more subtle.
The aunt would be arrested for child abuse at least but I could see her being busted for being a phony psychiatrist/doctor too as well as something to do with the murders and would get put in the mental ward too. Granted she isn't shown much but she created the monster and that's ultimately child abuse no matter how anyone words it. She would lose what license she would have no matter if they get off or not because she allowed the abuse and torture to happen and that's a straight up violation of doctor ethics.
Ricky gets sent to his dad or sane family and has to go thru counselling for a while, prob one reason why he's so angry in part 4. He's ashamed of the family rightfully so but he does his best to help.
The camp meanwhile goes bankrupt due to being in the words of the Cinema Snob "So effing sued!" by the parents of the victims. Mel's dead so regardless whoever would have his money: his family, trust, money person, whoever will have to pay up bigly. I'm sure Angela's family would too, the aunt looked to be quite wealthy.
