What if Stanley Kubrick directed this?
Purely a hypothetical.
If Kubrick had directed this film, how would it be different in your opinion?

Ha. Were we switching between this and 2001 today too?
I was a child when this movie came out and I wasn't allowed to see it. Every time I see it now, I have to wonder what's been cut because it just seems like a bunch of characters leaving and coming back and Jennifer Beales having tantrums and wet people dancing. 2001 is less cryptic.
I guess my answer to the question is it would probably seem less stupid. Then again, Eyes Wide Shut leaves me nearly as perplexed. But it seems there's more worth figuring out in that one.
That is a trippy question. "Full Metal Jacket" is one of my all time favorite movies. And "Eyes Wide Shut" was a huge steaming pile with dialog that sounded like it was from a "Scooby Doo" episode.
I think if Stanley Kubrick had directed it, Beales' character would have been way more cryptic and mysterious. And maybe they wouldn't have even put the dance doubles in disguise as Beales- just to add to the confusion and weirdness.
LOL, funny question!
Alex would be a dancing serial killer
Ending
Nick and the police break into Alex's try out and the judges are dead with her dancing like a manic covered in blood. cut to black
It makes me wonder what they were originally going for. David Cronenberg had refused to direct whereas Brian De Palma was a few weeks into pre-production before opting out to do Scarface instead.
