Really Like This One

I got the Severin release DVD of this one and it looks really good. It’s a bit of a film noir set within the Franco universe, complete with a strange electric soundtrack and the fabulous Lina Romay sporting her blonde Bob wig. The highlight is the showdown with the blind crime boss lady, and it’s definitely a scene not to be forgotten.

I'll need to revisit this one, but I do remember liking it. I gave it an 8/10 at IMDB, so I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm pretty sure that wig Lina is sporting is the same one she did in The House Of Lost Women (and probably other pictures too). Not a flattering hair style, but I adore Lina and could take her in any style. From her blonde wig collection, I like the curly one she sported in Sex Is Crazy better.

Watched this tonight and did quite enjoy it. The music is eclectic as you say, often seeming out of place. There's a great interview with Stephen Thrower on the blu-ray where he compared the opening theme music to sounding like "Giorgio Moroder having a nervous breakdown", that gave me a chuckle. The scene with the blind Dr. Rosenthal watching Bruta whip Al was great, and I liked the scene between Bruta and Lina as well.

I happened to see the very first "Al Pereira" movie in Franco's catalog just a few days ago, Death Whistles The Blues (1964). That was decent, but this one (BBLW) is more my style.

For anyone who wants to check this out, it's supposedly streaming on something called Fawesome. I think they must be relatively new. I have no idea if it's cut in anyway or what the quality is like.

I don’t think I’ve yet seen that one yet. BBLW was my first Al Pereira film but I’d love to see more.
