worst movie with the best scene ever

I just got done watching the original Amityville Horror (which I loved), so I thought maybe Amityville 3-D would be good also. I was sorely mistaken. It was a piece of trash in my opinion, and I can't believe Meg and Lori actually took part in it. There was basically no plot whatsoever, and the fakeness level was off the charts, even for those days. I wish I would have stuck with the first one and called it good.

Having said all that, the scene where the mother sees her daughter all wet and refusing to talk to her while she is actually outside dying is uber creepy. I think that scene is actually kinda brilliant, and I'm glad I got to see it. Kudos to whoever came up with it; it's a scene I will remember for years to come. As for the rest of the movie.... oy vey.

As far as Meg's and Lori's participation in the film goes, well, we all made dumb mistakes in our youth.

Good call here all around. Perfectly played by Lori Laughlin.

Meh. It probably looked good on paper, but it wasn't particularly effective in the movie. The moment Susan stepped into the house I knew what was going on, and the acting of the parents was also terrible, did not help making the scene work at all. The first movie might not be a masterpiece but Brolin and Kidder could have sold a scene like this easily. Both actors were great in that movie.

Great 5 minutes.
Unfortunately there was another 100 minutes to the movie.

I was surprised they killed off the daughter. I assumed it would all be a bad dream. But they did kill off the whole family in the last one and I never expected that.

Man, spoilers. Not cool.

While I was more disturbed by Sonny's gunning down his family in Part 2, I agree that this is a very effective sequence. It's one of the subtler scenes of the series, which I appreciate, and manages to work very well.

OP you nailed it. That was the best scene of the film.
