Socio economic status of these kids

Notice one kid lives in a motel, the other kis are children of TV repairmen. There are no middle class children here; all are lower middle class.
Only 2 people of color. Why?
One has a pool, but you go straight into the livingroom, no hall, and everyone in Southern Ca. has a pool.

Keep in mind, this is also the 80's. Definitely upper middle class here, as in they look poor, but they aren't.

Who cares. Obviously they’re middle/lower middle class. You can’t figure that out by opening your eyes?

Damone does not live in a motel. He lives in an apartment. In 1982, a two-bedroom apartment in southern California could be rented for around $500.00 a month, or less.

I went to a high school in a southern California suburb in the 1970s, There were approximately 2,500 students, and not one of them was black.

Many ordinary 1950s to 1970s tract houses of 1,000 to 2,000 square feet in southern California have swimming pools. In most of these houses, the front door opens directly into the living room. At the time the movie was made, such a house could be purchased for $40,000.00 or less. Somebody with a good job like being a tv repairman could have afforded one easily.

There are a lot of private swimming pools in southern California, but everyone does not have one. In the movie, the only pool is at Stacy's and Brad's house.

Ben Franklin talked too much. A lot of eye rolling went on behind his back.
