Top 3 Disney movies that make me cry

Here are some Disney movies that make me cry:
The Fox and The Hound
Dumbo
Bambi

Anyone have any others??

reply

I agree with you. I mean The fox and the hound was sad because Widow tweed had to drop Tod off in the forest. Dumbo was sad because he loses his mother because she's locked up. I have not seen Bambi however and I was just wondering if you could tell me what happens in it.

Oh, I don't know if I should tell you. I'd hate to spoil it for you, but if you really would like to know, I'll tell you. I just don't want to spoil a main part for you. ;-)

reply

I appriciate your consideration CAPTAIN MARSHMALLOW. I don't really care to see the movie, I Just want to know how Bambi is sad, thank you.

reply

Bambi's mother gets shot and killed by a hunter, and he's running around yelling, "Mother! Mother!", because he can't find her and doesn't understand that she's dead until this other deer tells him.

The number one movie (yes, ALL movies!) that makes me cry the most is...
The Fox and the Hound because The Starting, The scene of dropping Tod off in the nature Preserve and The Ending all bring tears to my eyes. Mostly because I remember watching the movie over and over again when I was little. And you have to give credits to the music. I mean even though they had only 4 songs in the whole movie, that played a strong role in making the movie sad. Who wouldn't think that the song in the scene where Tod gets dropped off in a forest isn't sad? (By the way that song is called "Goodbye May Seem Forever")

reply

omggg .. thas the only part in a disney movie tha has eva made me cry .. its awful sad!! i lv the film

reply

I have only cried twice in Disney movies and both are similar scenes.

The first is the scene in "The Fox and the Hound" in which the widow takes tod into the woods and leaves him there. The other is the scene in "Tarzan" where Kala shows Tarzan the tree house of his parents and waits outside while he is looking around and then puts on his fathers suit.

Come to think of it, even though the scene in "Tarzan" has a further layer, because Kala is losing her "son" and he now knows that he has had a different mother, I think that both scenes are very similar.

I cry at every disney film...its just they always manage to find the right button...:)

I found my little box of childhoood Disney movies the other day. I watched the Fox and the Hound, and finally, half-way through, the widow lady drops him off in the forest...I randomly burst out sobbing. I blame it on my period...

Dumbo always made me cry. That I DON'T blame on my period.

I don't normally cry at movies, but here are the only two movies that still bring tears to my eyes, even after seeing them dozens of times:

-Fox and the Hound where the old lady brings Tod to the nature preserve and the song "Goodbye May Seem Forever"

-The Lion King--Mufasa's death still makes my eyes fill up :(

i totally agree, those are my top two. i cant really decide on a third one though. the only other classic animated movie i can think of that made my tear up was An American Tail but its not a disney movie.

*SPOILERS, well, not exactly*
Dumbo: "Baby Mine" Song and Circus Sequence
Bambi: Mother's Death
Alice in Wonderland: Lost in Tulgey Wood, the song she sings
Peter Pan: "Your Mother and Mine" song
and a few others. Sorry but FATH doesn't make me cry!

reply

This film made me cry, so did Bambi. The other one was Alice in Wonderland where she gets lost in the wood and sings the song about not listening to her own advice. Gets me every time. Also, The Lion King when Mufasa died.

Fox and the Hound makes me cry every single time I see it.

Others that have made me cry:

Tarzan: when they are at the treehouse and Tarzan leaves his "mother"

The Lion King: When Mufasa falls and Simba runs around screaming "Help!"

Brother Bear: When Koda reunites with his mother as a returned spirit.

reply

The Fox and The Hound is my fave movie EVER but I have not once watched it without crying at least once...
The Lion King sometimes makes me cry
Dumbo makes me cry(but not because he leaves his mother...BECAUSE THE PNIK ELEPHANTES ARE TERRIFYING!)
Snow White also made me cry coz it was freaky...

BTW,I have never seen Bambi but all my friends say they cried when they watched it

reply

The Land Before Time is not a Disney movie (Universal, I believe), but I know which part you're talking about. So sad.

Why is it that cartoons make us cry?

reply

I cried thinking of the ending of Pocahontas.
The ending of the whale scene in Pines of Rome made me want to cry a bit.
I didn't cry, but I liked that scene in Lilo and Stitch where he says "I'm lost."

Honorable mention: I just saw this cartoon on The Little Mermaid DVD based on The Little Match Girl. Most of you have probably seen it. But tears were welling in my eyes the second time I saw it.

"HOPSCOTCH!"

reply

aww that bit in lilo and stitch "im lost" got me toox

reply

How 'bout Old Yeller?

reply

To this day I still bawl my eyes out when the old lady has to drop off Todd. And in Dumbo, too.

reply

I cry at every single disney movie. I always find a place to get emotional in every cartoon disney movie i've ever seen which is nearly all up to 1999(after that they turned to crap). I'm a major major disney freak. I love all disney movies. I'm especially a sucker for the really early ones in technicolor.

reply

Sounds like you need to see Treasure Planet and Bolt.

reply

I refuse to see Old Yeller because I know I'll die crying. I have three dogs and I know it would be a good movie to watch but I remember seeing just the ending part when he has Old Yeller in some shed or something and I was just in shock. and I had a Labrador at the time..

reply

Yeller made me angry more than sad. Great classic film no doubt.

reply

[deleted]

The Land Before Time definately did it...although I think I cried more because it was so scary.

reply

My top 3 would be:

The Fox And The Hound
The Lion King
Brother Bear

Although there are others on my list i'd have to say those are the top ones. However, i cried during Bambi 2, some sad tears other happy ones.
