Why Do They Always Fall In Love?
I mean the relationship between Tod and Copper was already perfect. Why did they have to ruin it with Vixie? She had no point in this movie.

She was there to show how Tod had grown up and was accepting his role in nature. For foxes that usually means getting a girl and having kids. I thought Vixie was a cute character and didn't take away from the friendship between Tod and Copper. Another answer could be that Tod and Copper were supposed to be really close friends, not homoerotic lovers like you said they were in another thread.
shareBut she talks like a slut. She almost moans her name the first time.

It's animal nature - it was only natural to introduce Vixie...
It makes me think of other Disney movies where the main character gets "spring fever":
The Aristocats
Lion King
Bambi (even Flower & Thumper find lady friend's too...)
Lady & The Tramp
Robin Hood (They're foxes, they fall for each other... I suppose it counts)
One could even argue that in The Rescuers, Bernard falls for Bianca...
Then, you've go the regular Disney characters - Mickey has Minnie, Donald has Daisy and Pluto, well, Pluto always seems to fall for little spaniels and poodles - LOL!!
Pluto had a girlfriend once and in one cartoon, they had puppies. Forgot her name though.
shareThe Lion King doesn't count--Nala wasn't just some female they stuck in the story. She had a part in Simba's childhood as well. One could argue they are Lion King's Todd and Copper.
"We pretty much make our living on crazy."
If you rewatch "Bambi" or "Lady and the Tramp" you'll see that, like the burrow scene in FatH, those movies actually have scenes that imply mating, done in a tasteful manner.
shareI think that they did it well- Vixie shouldn't be a big part of the movie, the focus is on Tod and Copper. And it's not overly done that they are lovers, even at the end their interactions are innocent. She does provide a new companion for him, and imply that he will grow up as a fox would, and after all Copper has Chief, who will guide him along the "hunting dog" path.

He's not asexual like Michael Jackson.
big mama did introduce vixie to todd tho, trying to lead vixie towards wanting to meet him "hes about your age... and handsome" and vixie acted like a teen girl who finds out theres a new cute guy at school...exactly like a girl would.
I fought the English, to free the English... from the English.

I liked that they fell in love almost immediately. I thought that made their personalities more animalistic. Like they were responding to mating instincts instead of acting like humans.
shareWhat? You want Tod to be all alone...? I mean, he had some other animal friends, but it's nice that he found a nice young lady to start a family with n' all. Tod needed a mate. He's not asexual like Michael Jackson.
"It's what people know about themselves inside that makes them afraid."
I think it was mainly done to show that Tod isn't gay.

Because it's a film and relationship angles ate so lazy and easy to copy from other films it means the screenwriter doesn't have to use any imagination.
And to get women to watch.
Usually love sub plots are done at the expense of the story and the main characters (if male) expense i.e. development.
The worst thing is that Vixen (I mean, Vixie) is such an annoying character. There's nothing wrong with Tod being attracted to a female, but he deserved better. Vixie was a b****.
shareHow was Vixie a b****?
She was nothing but sweet to Todd and befriended him from the start, but she was also no pushover and wouldn't let Todd disrespect her when he wrongly took his frustrations out on her and even Big Mama scolded him for it...however when he apologised, Vixie forgave him.
And like Chief symbolizes Coppers tie to his master, Vixie is Todds tie to nature. The filmmakers use her to show us Todds reconnection with his wild roots in a simple way that a child could understand (Vixie=Forest) , without her it would be harder to show why Todd can't go back to the Widow in the end.
So she serves her purpose in the story, she's not just a love interest thrown in for no reason, she symbolizes Todds newfound connection to where he belongs (wild).
I think the OP is asking why they didn't have Todd and Copper fall in love with each other. 'll answer that now, because the movie was about a FRIENDSHIP. Now I have a counter question, why is it that every time there are two male FRIENDS in a movie, so many people want them to end up as a gay couple. I have nothing wrong with homosexuality, but I see this complaint, like, everywhere.
