just couldn't get into it

Man I get why it;s considered good, but I had a hard time really getting into it

Same here. Although, I think it was a pretty good movie, but wildly overrated. For my final rating I gave it a 6.3 out of 10.

I've seen some better sports films for sure. And they look horrendous when they're running in this movie. To me, that was a bit of a turn-off. Not a bad movie though, it has some good scenes.

I'd say that it's not just a sports film, that in fact sports are finally secondary to what the film wants to explore. Yes, there's the story of two extraordinary runners, but it's much more about them as human beings in the end. It explores personal drive, honor, integrity, class, religion, bigotry with an observant eye. It invites viewers to ask themselves, "What is most important to me? How should I live my life? What sort of person am I?"

I hear ya, it touches on various topics but somehow, I just didn't find the movie all that interesting. I recently watched a similar sports film that I found to be much better called 'The Greatest Game Ever Played'. It's also a period sports film like CoF but it doesn't have the riveting score CoF has but it touches on a lot of the same topics that you listed above.

I could be bias though because TGGEP is a golf movie and I really like golf a lot. However, I would still highly recommend it for people that like CoF.

That's a fair response, and thanks for the recommendation!

Well put. It's really about morals and doing the right thing. That's what makes it special.

Just realised last night that it's the centenary of that Olympics!
