No, it was never fixed. Matty told her husband that she was tossing a football around with a neighbor, who tossed a long one that shattered it. Hubby didn't mind because it was hot outside, and they had recently squirted highly lethal bug spray into every nook of the house.
shareI thought that scene was stupid. Totally unrealistic and unnecessary. But I guess this was a 'noir' movie so a bit of surrealism is to be expected.

Ned cuts his toe on the broken window and runs home crying. There is no subsequent
murder, cover up or drama for that matter.
