The more scribled the name,the bigger the fame.
Normally being a fan of classical cinema; Used Cars is one of my guilty pleasures. I remember seeing it for the first time years ago (around 1990) and the only scene I remembered was the pirate commercial, which, after watching the movie again, is one of it's most memorable (and funniest) scenes (the reaction from the viewers at home is just priceless! KID: Hey look, bare tits! MOTHER: That's DISGUSTING!). Just the sort of movie I can appreciate last thing on a saturday night.

Some of the American Pie Films, Meet the Parents and my most recent favourite Old School are pretty funny but no where near as good as Used Cars.
Used Cars had the right balance between sleaze and genuine funny bits.
The bit where the customer was haggling over money and said something like "Fifty bucks never killed anyone" just before Jack Warden came into the office and dropped dead on the floor has to be the funniest comedy scene ever.
The dog playing dead on the lot and when they shoot up the opposition caryard during the pirated commercial was also great.
Any other recommendations for old comedies like Used Cars, Caddyshack and Stripes? I love that stuff.

why cant Hollywood write anymore great movies like this?? All you see are great casts wasted on terrible writing. Anybody in Hollywood reading this??!

I dunno if it is the funniest, but it sure ranks up there with them. The private commercials are hysterically funny. Especially when Marshall Lucky blows the sh*t out of those cars. Funny Funny stuff

* Toby (the beagle) urinating on the mechanic, after he's unable to wake up by just licking his face.
Frank McRae can throw a tantrum better than anybody in cinema. Note 48 Hours and Last Action Hero.
A question I've always had: Did Marshall Lucky actually hit Jim (as Bad Prices) with that rifle? It sure looked like it. Made it even funnier, that he kind of freaked out but went on with the commercial.
Yeah, its never mentioned later in the film. Don't know if that was intentional of if they were supposed to show him putting on or taking off a bullett-proof vest. It looked like very dark humor when he looked at his chest wound. haha
shareProbably my favorite comedy of all time. Kurt Russell once called it a "Disney movie with adult language." So many great scenes. Right from the opening with Rudy luring the guy with the 10 bucks on the fishing line. Jim punching the guy through the windshield was classic.

As someone who recently entered the car business, i was recommended this movie by one of my trainers. It reminds me of Anchorman, but obviously this movie came first. To the younger generation, id describe this one as the "anchorman" for car salesmen. Definitely an amazing movie
