am i the only fan who loved the WHOLE film not just the beginning/end?

i loved the slow,ponderous 'psychological' middle section,i loved the theme of loneliness and madness,and the detectives sense of vengeance. it relieved the tension of the first act (you cant keep that kind of terror up for 90 mins..the audience would be exhausted) and it cranks it up slowly towards the end for a scary finale.

Hell no! I too, lo this and feel this is an often overlooked 'gem'. They certainly don't make 'em like this anymore! I too liked how they kept the suspense up for the ENTIRE FILM! Loved it!
