1) What happened to the fat guy and his cheating wife?
2) What happened to the real estate agent?
3) Why did Susan go to that house?
4) Why was the first vampire kid dress in his pyjamas at the window when he had died fully clothed?
5) What was in the cold crate that was picked up? It wasn't the main vampire as he was already there.

1) They escaped from the lot.
2) He died from a heart attack.
3) I'm not quite sure on this. I'd have to see the film once more and I'm in the midst of a very long-running marathon of a television series.
4) That was a goof.
5) It was Barlow. That was how he got to the town.

2) No, you're thinking of the old teacher who had the heart attack.
Actually, I'm thinking of Larry Crockett the real estate agent found dead at the lake by Ben and Susan. If you recall, Susan's dad, a physician, told Ben that the autopsy left no doubt whatsoever that Crockett died of a heart attack.

If you recall Susan went to the house, stood there looking at it, then was going to get back into the car but she saw Mark going into the house, so she followed him, because she was concerned for his welfare.

So Mark was responsible for her being a vampire! But then again, she shouldn't have been at the Barlow place in the first place! Thanks!
As regards, Larry I thought he was bitten!
The 'turning' of Susan is one element that does not make a lot of sense in this film. Barlow could not have gotten to her as Ben, Mark and her father entered the house in the daytime, and Ben destroyed Barlow just as the sun set, so he (that is, Barlow) could not have done it. And remember what happened to the house: Ben and Mark burned it down, presumably with her still in the house.
How then did she become a vampire?
Larry was frightened to death. He did not become a vampire in this film.

@Gary...yes indeed I just re-watched Salem's Lot and you do hear, as the house is burning, a woman's scream. I had presumed that was Susan tied up to a chair - as Mark the escapologist - had been. I was thinking she died a human, burnt to death. That was what the viewer is meant to think.
And you're right, Barlow was already eliminated at sundown, before he could get to Susan, so there was no vampire around to bite Susan. We also hear Ben say sorry Susan (not directly to her, but to his conscience), as if he knew she must be tied up somewhere still a non vampire, but he had to burn the house down... It's one of many things that are 'goofs' as someone else mentioned.
Well that makes me wonder if whether there in fact others around town who were not taking up residence as the undead in the Marston house. Also, the woman screams at the end could have been Mrs Glick.
Who is to say that Susan was bitten before Barlow was eliminated. After all, the Glick boy bit the caretaker in broad daylight. If Barlow was in a dark cold place, he would have been woken up.
1). Got me. They just seemed to disappear from the story.
2) He (Larry) was leaving, Cully and Julie's house after being caught in the bed with her. Cully made him go outside almost naked, and Barlow grabbed him. I never got how he ended up at the lake in his car.
3) Because.........well, I don't know, either.
4) A goof for sure.
5) Barlow. But it was confusing for a minute because of the killings. It became clear when Straker goes in the basement and sees it all busted up,
