Watch English or German version?

I speak English but will watch the best version. Please tell me if the English version is dubbed, then I will the German version for sure, thanx.

reply

I just watched it in English and I thought it was okay I think I would have preferred to see it in German in hindsight

reply

I've never actually seen the English version ever, but I've heard that the German is the best. Watch that. And then watch the English, I would say.

reply

Neither version is dubbed. I like the English version better and it has funnier moments which are lacking in the German version. English version also has less technical mistakes than German one (shots out of focus and mirror reflection).

reply

The movie was shot in both English and German so there really isnt a better version. The English is longer.

So all the actors real voices are in both versions? That's refreshing.

reply

Herzog has said the the German language version is the preferred one.

reply

It seems to match their lips, at least. I think I watched it in English a few years ago, and now just watched it as part of the Joe Bob Briggs Last Drive in in German.

reply

Iā€™m pressing play on the German version now. šŸ‘

reply

My DVD has both versions. I watched both at the same time. I would watch one scene in English and then I would switch over to the German and watch the same scene in German. And they're not dubbed as as they were filming the movie they would film one scene in German and then they would film the same scene in English. The one thing that really stood out to me was the dinner scene between Harker and The Count. I think the German version was superior.

reply

I think there were scenes in the English version that were dubbed over because the English lines did not match the mouth, like in the scene at the end when Van Helsing gets arrested. Those voices were definitely dubbed.

reply

i've only seen the English version- it's not dubbed.
