shareBo looked nice. She had that natural 70's look going on. My Mom always commented that Bo had big/broad shoulders- which I never noticed. Someone asked what women were hotter. I'd have to say that Linda Carter (Wonder Woman) was gorgeous. She had a beautiful face, was very tall, thin but curvy with a great body.

In the late 70's, the American standard of beauty was different than it is now. I was a young child at that time and remember that most of the top models (Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Patti Hansen, Kelly Emberg, and others) were blonde, blue-eyed, and had delicate facial features. What most people (men, in particular) considered hot and beautiful at the time were blonde, blue-eyed, WASPy-looking, women with great bodies.
I think Bo perfectly embodied the desired look of the late 70's. It is apparent that that is the look Blake Edwards was looking for when casting George Webber's idea of the perfect 10 in this movie.

She's actually quite stunning, but was noted more for being naked on screen with an ostensibly African-American female braid, which I always thought was odd.

Bo Derek was really much more beautiful than Farrah Fawcett, in a classical sense. But she had all the personality and pizzazz of a dingy, waterlogged mop, so after her initial impact, she just faded away. Basically, absolutely no one cared.share
