Funny how this movie seemed like it was GREAT when it was made

But now if you watch it you realize how lame the story was. Yes, the actors look great and the special effects aren't terrible given the limited things they could pull off back then and the music was superb.

However, then you get to the part where Supes flies around and around the Earth to "turn back time"...sheesh...

Not only wouldn't that affect time in any way, he would be terrorizing the entire planet, altering the magnetic field, melt the polar ice caps likely with all the friction caused, probably cause massive tidal waves, earthquakes and untold numbers of deaths, all to try and save Lois Lane.

It's still the best superhero movie.

True.
We didnt really need anymore

And it still feels GREAT today. The iconic ā€œSā€ reveal as Clark open his shirt has often been referenced, but never been equaled and will
NEVER be surpassed. All the trivial bullshit in this topic is irrelevant.

Still great to me. Call it nostalgia - I don't care.

Star Wars was magic to us kids when it came out in the 70s. Superman felt the same way!

I don't care about the "turning back time" or "just Superman went back in time" argument. It was awesome either way!

You had to be there! We didn't care back then. We just enjoyed the movie :)

Special effects and physical realism are vastly overrated by the bleating herd.

Still a good movie!

OP complains about the implausibility of the part where Superman flies around the earth "to turn back time" or whatever he was trying to do.

This is a movie about a guy who flies, cannot be hurt by bullets, and can see through walls.
