I must say that I loathe the Jackson films, they are godawful, but this actually made sense, and had me riveted, and of course, Bakshi's genius animation.

Can you unpack that a little more?

I like this movie just fine, but I'm curious what you mean by, "...actually made sense..." in particular.

I thought I was the only one who hated the Jackson films. I've tried rewatching them a few times but I cannot get through the first hour of Fellowship. I do like this 78 version, though. I captures the feel of the novels.
