Dudley Moore pissed me off...

in this film. I felt so bad for Goldie's character. She would run to him for help and he was to damn drunk to care. I felt like pulling my hair out. I would always scream at the TV saying, get sober you idiot. She needs help! Maybe that's why I can't watch Auther.

He wasn't drunk.

He was horny.

Aagh; you're a HEDGE!

And when he asks Gloria whether it she minds if he finished his drink there in the pub -heh-heh! I'd say Gloria saved Stanley alot of pain at that moment!

Dudley was perfect for this film.

And he then picks up the candle by mistake, and tries to take a sip of it!

Seriously???
Those who confuse an actor with a character or misdirect their anger....

Would you have been angry with Tim Conway too, had he portrayed Stanley [instead of Moore]?

Dudley stole the entire show [next to Billy Barty's hilarious Bible salesman stint]
He was the satirical and physical comedy - Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler of his time.
He was even funnier as Arthur.
