Apparently this movie was not a hit at all. Why do you think that is?
It was the 70's and not everybody was into 50's music back then. I myself love the movie.
Perhaps if this had been released earlier in the '70s, it could have capitalized on the success of "American Graffiti."
"American Graffiti" was re-released the same year "American Hot Wax" came out.
It also had a terrible title. People probably thought it was about a hair removal salon.
Allan Freed is an important name in rock n roll history, but by 1978, he was probably largely forgotten by most people?
