I mean, don't get me wrong! It's not a masterpiece in any way! I like Phenomena, Tenebre and Deep Red more, but what's with all the hipsters coming here to say that it's overrated!? What!? Almost NOBODY talks about Suspiria anymore! Even in horror circles I never notice anyone talking about a single Giallo film!! I mean, let me rephrase that: "Suspiria is UNDERRATED". That's what it is, and you know it true horror fans!...

shareI think a lot of the negativity is coming from people who aren't used to this style of film. Suspiria is a very visually stunning movie, but because it is from 1977, that style of horror is now considered outdated and cheesy by today's standards. I think it's high reputation came from those who saw the film around the time it was released, who saw it as the masterpiece it is; most horror movies since could only dream of such powerful atmosphere. There's nothing else like it
I loved Suspiria, but I also love many 70s movies and already have an appreciation for a wide range of older films so unsurprisingly I liked it. I can understand if a person might not like it though
I would never recommend this to younger folks (or adults for that matter) who thought a good scary movie was Annabelle or alike. They'd crucify it! This is more of a specialty type that gets recommended to those who are into cult cinema
It could be that they have had the movie over hyped too them, how many times have you heard great things about a film and then when you watch it you end up thinking "is that it?". The new generation of movie watchers have different expectations they are used too seeing massive amounts of CGI and Vampires that now glow in sunlight and other things that I personally find too be awful for classic horror monsters.

I watch this and it was surprisingly good.I had no great expectations,This movie was suspenseful and had a scary atmosphere the score was also good. I Voted 8/10
