Do pornographic cinemas really have snack bars?
I'm just wondering because when most customers go there, food's not going to be the first thing on their minds.

shareWhen I was in high school, me and a couple friends went to a pornographic theater a couple of times and there was a snack bar there with candy and pop corn. I would never eat there just because of what kind of things occurred in the theater and also because the theater was smelly and old(smelled of harsh cleaning products). That is why I would never buy any snacks at the theater. We didn't do what many of the other people were doing. We watched the movie and also noticed there was a lot of moving around of the patrons. It was weird and after the second time going, we decided it wasn't the place for us to be, but it was an interesting experience anyhow.

that was either the semen, or the ammonia used to clean the semen
An interesting anthropological experience. I'm surprised you came (no pun intended) the second time.
shareWe got a kicked out of it the first time, but the second time wasn't great because an old man sat on the side of us a few seats down and he was sticking his tongue out and whipping it back and forth. We moved and he followed us and then we decided to leave since we didn't care to be a part of the shenanigans.
shareWere you males or females at the time?
shareWe were all males and still are. It seems that, little did we know, gay males used to frequent porn theaters even though they showed straight movies. The old man was looking for some action, but none of us were interested, so we took off. We thought it was so funny watching these guys trying to hook up with each other, but when 4 high school boys became the center of the universe, none of us were interested. We all sat in the back the first time and weren't noticed, but the second time we sat in a more conspicuous area and the gay guys wanted to take away our innocence. It was uncomfortable to say the least.
shareDon't know why you didn't just stream your porn like everyone else
shareThis was in the late 80's and there was no streaming and renting porn in the local video store was too risky. Someone who knew me could have spread it around my small town. Going to the porn theater in the city made it less likely that someone we knew would recognize us.
shareI feel bad for you having to put up with that creepy old man. My buddies and I went to a few porno theaters in the '80s as well, but these were in Quebec, Canada, and as pornography is more of a mainstream thing in Quebecois culture, the audience was made up of relatively normal people. Mostly men who looked like hockey players and one or two of them brought their girlfriends who looked like strippers. Nobody bothered us.
shareFrom what I heard it's was really common in the '70-'80 going to porno theaters (mostly in big urban cities) - even for normal couples.
shareInteresting story. I guess with Grindr, etc. porn cinemas are probably different places nowadays.
shareI went to a few of the porno theaters on Market Street in San Francisco in the 1970s. They were all originally regular theaters that had been bought out for use as porno theaters. They all had operating snack bars, just like any other movie theater.
shareYeah seriously if I’m going to a porn theater I am not gonna want to eat, that’s just gross
shareDefinitely. But one thing I noticed was in the first one Travis went to early in the morning, a number of other patrons just seemed to be watching and didn't seem aroused. Neither did Travis for that matter. Maybe they were going there out of loneliness, boredom, etc.
shareMaybe, but if you aren't going to spank one out I don't see the point in watching a porno.

Hard to focus on two bodily functions at one time....
In the 70s, before i was born, yes. You have to remember there was no internet pornhub trash. The only places to find them were in theaters. It was even before 80s VHS tapes.
I remember going into those places in the 90s and the most they had were vending machines. Right now I wouldn't touch those areas with a 10 foot pool as they're basically just places were gays try to hook up.
I went to one on Market Street in San Francisco back in the 1970s when that part of town, along with Mission, was a hub of porno theaters, and it had a snack bar. Everything about the place was just like any normal theater, except there were tits and cocks being projected on the screen.
