I'm sure that the majority of QME's viewership do not post here, but if you are a Quincy fan, post your age here. I'm 37 and watched QME during its original run.
Born 1982, so obviously I didn't see Quincy when it aired on tv. Never caught reruns either since crime dramas weren't of any interest to me until about a decade ago (blame USA and its constant SVU reruns). Just started watching almost two weeks ago, great so far!
I'm a fan of CSI and I've seen Crossing Jordan so I figured I'd go back and watch, arguably, the show that started it all. And of course I'm a Klugman fan too. :)
Similar story. I'm 35, so was born after it premiered, and hadn't even heard about Quincy until about a month or two ago. I love the original Twilight Zone and Jack Klugman put in some of the most moving performances on that show I've ever seen in a series. Finally decided to do a Netflix search for his further work streaming and found this. I was very surprised that a show that ran for so long during the 80s I'd never even heard about. Sure I was still little more than a toddler when it went off, but I do remember being acquainted with the Colombo series during the 80s and that was running at the same time.
I'm in the middle of season 2 and having a good time. Sure it's extremely formulaic, with some serious plot issues and laughable coincidences, but I'm really enjoying it, mainly because Klugman is just so damn good.
62 here - thoroughly enjoyed the original run - - glad to see another generation enjoying this fine series. It's just as effective without the blood and guts...
"When people run in circles its a very very - Mad World"
Watched it when I was a teenager during its original run in the 1970s and recently bought all the DVDs. Still great after all these years! Jack Klugman was a force to be reckoned with--he could have read the phone book and it would have been riveting. Miss him dearly.
I am 74. I watched the original series. I just discovered that I can get Quincy M.E. on one of my cable channels. I am waiting to see the ones I specifically remember. I don't like it as well as I did the first time. CSI with its recreation of the crimes and actual viewing of autopsies has me wanting to see something like that instead of head shots of Quincy talking about what he is supposedly doing.
It distresses me that we still have the same problems today that Quincy was fighting to fix in the late '70s.
I'm a hunnert and sixty-eight years young and I was watching Quince when all your grandfathers were in die-a-pers. Oh Nyarlehotep - renew our ancient pact and grant me extended life so I may live to see the day when Quince the Next Generation comes about!
