Was Quint sad about Hooper dying?
He didn’t seem to give a shit.
shareHooper survives and Quint dies. I recommend a rewatch.
He was tired of Hooper playing with himself anyway.
shareHa.
I suppose we could re-phrase the question:
"When, as they lowered him in the cage into the ocean, the prospect of Hooper dying was very , very high -- was Quint sad to have to lower him into the water to face likely death?"
Or something like that.
It DOES seem in this scene that both Quint and Chief Brody realize that their boat is sinking, that they are ALL going to die( UNLESS Hooper risks his life to save them...so the other two men are a bit guilt-ridden but survivalistic.
After all,if Hooper DOESN'T go down in the cage, its GUARANTEED that they will ALL die, INCLUDING Hooper.
Well...that's the expectation. Things turn out better than that, don't they?
