Very enjoyable

Charles Bronson usually delivers and this time again.

I like vigilante justice films. It gives an interesting counter perspective to the norm where the police do the dirty work, and a lot of times they fail.

The acting overall was really good in this. How the mother and daughter were treated was tough to watch.

I like that the police kind of was on his side, but also not.

Definitely recommend this.

It's definitely an entertaining film.

Very entertaining, for sure. But the sequels have terrible ratings, so I guess I should skip all of them?

reply

Try watching the sequel. It's good, although disturbing to watch.

If you liked the first, you'll like the sequels. Same melody different lyrics.

They get increasingly more and more entertaining. Absurd, but entertaining. Especially today. The filmmakers had no need to satisfy the cultural studies graduates who serve coffee and think they have a right to tell everyone else what is and isn't allowed in entertainment.

You guys really jazzed them up - now I will have to check them out. Thanks!

Death Wish 3 is one of the most enjoyable movies I’ve ever watched. Trust me. Imagine Bronson mowing down hoards of punks with a 30 cal belt fed machine gun. :)

Yep, and I get why - they needed the audience to be enraged enough to root for a vigilante breaking the law - and it worked.

It reminds me (a bit) about the prosecutor in My Cousin Vinny questioning prospective jurors and whether they could vote for the death penalty if the defendants were found guilty. One nice woman said she believed it should be up the victim's families whether the should be executed. The lawyer then laid out how the defendants were accused of shooting the victim in the back in cold blood. The woman said "fry 'em!!"

They're bleak films but also watchable.
