Nathan Fillion as the next Jim Rockford

Now that Nathan Fillion is free from Castle, it's time for him to be the next Jim Rockford. Too bad Jim Garner isn't still around to play Rocky. But Fillion to me is the person to fill those shoes. As much as I like Dermot Mulroney who did a pilot a number of years ago, he just isn't the persona of Jim Rockford. And I don't think Vince Vaughn is Rockford either. Nathan Fillion just feels right to take on the mantle.

If Jimmy were young enough, it would be a dumb idea to have him play Rocky. He played "Pappy" in the movie version of "Maverick" where the man described as "smooth as a handle on a gun" acted like a smart alec on speed. My favorite review said, "All Gibson had to do was look over at James Garner. He was running a clinic." But Gibson can only play comedy one way....
