Did anyone think Doc Baker looked odd?

He had this waxy, inhuman looking like skin and his hair was weird. No one else on tv looked like that. As a kid I didn't know if he was totally human.

That's Kevin Hagen. I've seen him in a few other roles and he looked the same, relatively, in all of them. There's an episode of MASH where he takes off his helmet to show off his red hair and aside from wearing fatigues he looks just like Doc Baker.

Yes in that he was “medic” Baker.

He also play a colonel in season four of M*A*S*H. Some 38th Parallels was the episode title.

He was a character actor. Having an odd look is an asset for them.
