shareI have no problem with Serpico having the beard but the length of it was stupid and made him look like a bum, he should have been ordered by the department to buy a beard trimmer and keep it short so he looks more clean cut, his appearance was horrible and a beard could blend him in if it was shorter too.
I actually liked his Goatee and Mustache better though, he looked like a street guy and blended in just fine, those long beards look stupid and are unprofessional, no reason not to trim it short at least.
His personality was sort of rebellions, non-conformist. See the first girlfriend he has, she was into some literary club or something. He also read those strange books about ballet etc
