The show would be quite different if the had gone with the first choice of Ronnie Barker as they would be no epic slapstick gags like the famed rollar skating scene. Though what would it be like with the second choice of Norman Wisdom?

Much though I enjoyed Ronnie Barker, it wouldn't have worked with him. Norman Wisdom would have been very similar to Michael Crawford, but probably less subtle. He would also have been too old.
