Austin Powers=Austin Pendleton look alikes?

I was struck dumb when I first saw Austin Powers. I felt as if it were a direct copy of Prof. Larrabee in "WU,D?". Especially when the professor comes in for the first time into the ballroom with his glasses on.

The GLASSES, The TEETH, The HAIR!~

I am surprised no one has said anything about this before. Mike Myers even took Austin's first name, by golly!

I just saw What's Up Doc for the first time and was also taken aback by the similarities! In addition to the physical likeness, it seems there is a lot of "Prof Larrabee's" mannerisms in the Austin Powers character.

Yesiree!

Even the mannerisms! You are very observant! It's neat that more and more people are seeing what I saw the MOMENT I saw the first Austin Powers.

Thanks for writing Editor-45!

You totally nailed it.
I watched it tonight for the first time in years, and I kept thinking I would recognize the actor who played Larrabie, because he looked so familiar for some reason.
And that's what it was, I was thinking of the Austin Powers character.

Thanks, Todd. I appreciate your thoughts. They validate my suspicions from several years. It's an odd and quirkly parallel...but at least one that has caught more people's attentions.

Mere coincidence. Pendleton isn't even British.
