just what we need - another remake, especially of a PERIOD set film.

Because it's impossible to film a period movie after that PERIOD is up.

I mean, we all know this movie was shot by a camera-man who was in the POW camp, and then omnisciently followed Billy around.

Why do good movies need to be remade?

Whats wrong with this movie?

Is Hollywood producing such fine films now that they can improve on movies that are just fine the way they are?

I am happy to see so many people that hate remakes. Can't people enjoy movies for what they are anymore???? Remakes make me sick. Remakes are most of the time horrible movies. Get a life, Hollywood! Go get some fresh ideas and stop slaughtering pieces of history. Ho! and by getting some fresh ideas I do not mean steal from foreign countries.(grudge, odishon etc...)

It seems like every movie out there has this 'who will be in the remake thread?'...
Is there anyone out there like me who is sick and tired of hearing the word 'remake'?
Especially nauseating is the remake threads on already-excellent movies (e.g., is there a remake thread on THE GODFATHER yet?)...

Let's try a new thing: 'who will star in an entirely original new and great movie or adaptation that has NOT yet been done before'... or is that too far-fetched?

The movie biz has gone remake-crazy -- not that the remake wasn't always a part of motion-picture history -- it's just that that's all there seems to be being pushed as MAJOR pictures, especially movies that should not have or that do not need remakes...

enough already with the remakes...

I doesn't need to be remade - the visions of Valerie Perrine naked (alot) don't need changing!
