Why have hardly any people seen this film?! (Well, I mean there's hardly any votes for it anyway.) It's not just 'one of those comedies'; it has a very interesting story and some really good acting. Any other views?
Yep, if your palate is used with the dark roast. Junior was used with the (at most) medium roast one usually gets (or was the norm)in the States as a diluted filtered coffee.
Same here. Better than expected and hardly ever hear about it. Guess the Billy W fans & writers always cover his bigger name ones. Certainly works its magic. Italy helps and the secondary players are fun. Well done. Be amusing to see remake, maybe. But the theme has been played several times and this should just stand as it is.
I definitely agree with you! Just saw it for the first time last night--and I'm 45--and loved it. Not sure if I'm going to give it a 9 or 10/10, it was so good. And the 144 minutes--extremely unusual for a comedy--just fly by.
So little known in fact that it's not even in Juliet Mills IMDB bio!
It's a wonderful movie. I have seen it couple of times before but just watched it again now and it gets even better with age, also in HD I noticed a lot of things I missed before.
Juliet Mills was simply beautiful and all through the movie I kept thinking I knew her and then suddenly realised my younger sister looks exactly like her!
Acting throughout was excellent and of course Jack Lemon was on top form as always.
The setting, the music, the storyline, really nothing not to like about this movie.
I've seen it, and I just didn't think it was funny, and the romance was unbelievable. I never understood why he called her fat shortly after meeting her or why he suddenly agrees to have a romantic dinner with her or why she is attracted to anyone so unpleasant.
Michaelward, you did not follow the plot then as to why he invited her to dinner and why she found him attractive. It was explained beforehand. He only invited her to dinner because he thought she had kidnapped the dead bodies of their respective parents. She was a hopeless romantic at heart who just followed in her mother's footsteps, although I agree to call her fat is ridiculous!
