Yep. You can’t go wrong with Mario Bava. If you like Gialli then you will appreciate it.

it's a bit sleazier and cruder than some of Bava's earlier films (both in terms of style and content), but it is a very interesting film and the granddaddy of a lot of horror that came later.

The teens in the dune buggy subplot is definitely a precursor to "Friday the 13th," which came out eight years later.

I SAW A LOT OF BITS THAT TURNED UP IN LATER FILMS...OVERALL I WAS BORED THOUGH...A LOT.

It has one foot in Giallo territory and isn't what we understand now as a traditional slasher, although the teens in the dune buggy subplot would fit that category.
