Or am I wrong?

It is a lake. Does not matter. Bay of Blood is one of many titles this film is known for. All that matters is this is one of the earliest splatter films. Ten years before Friday the 13th. And it has more style than the first five Friday the 13th films combined. There is reasoning behind the killings unlike the American copycat.
shareIn the story it's definitely a bay of the Tyrrhenian Sea since octopi live in the water (there are no freshwater octopi). The bulk of the film was shot about an hour’s drive south of Rome in Sabaudia, Italy, at the producer’s beach house.
