This was a fantastic movie - what ruins it is Jenny's death out of nowhere! One minute she's fine and healthy the next she's dying! She certainly didn't look sick and about to die! I think the writers didn't know how to end the movie so they did a cop out and have Jenny die! Couldn't they come up with a better ending???
shareThe movie is an adaptation of the original novel. She dies in the novel. That's what the story is trying to say, I guess. Love is not enough. Oliver and Jenny thought their love would be enough against all the odds and adversities in the world, but they find out it isn't enough. There are things in life which the best of man's intentions can't overcome. But that's what makes this movie all the more touching.
