Best cinematography

I find the photography in The Conformist (by ingenious Vittorio Storaro, later cinematographer of Apocalypse Now) extremely beautiful. Actually, along with Apocalypse Now and Wings of Desire (Henri Alekan), it's my favorite. What's yours?

Too many to remember right now, but "The Conformist" and "Happy Together" (1997, directed by Wong Kar-Wai and photographed by Christopher Doyle) are probably my two favourites, ever. In black and white, anything by Sven Nykvist for Bergman.

I'd never heard of this film but just had the tv on in the background with the volume down and saw this for the first time and am totally amazed. One of he most amazing looking things i've ever seen full stop. It's almost too much, haven't been able to read many of the subtitles yet :)

The Conformist (1970)
Fanny and Alexander (1982)
Ran (1985)
In the Mood for Love (2001)
Punch-Drunk Love (2002)
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter ... and Spring (2004)
The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (2007)
The Fall (2008)
The Tree of Life (2011)

black and white:

The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928)
Citizen Kane (1941)
The Third Man (1950)
8 1/2 (1963)
Eraserhead (1977)

Prepare your minds for a new scale of physical, scientific values, gentlemen.
