I can't be the only one who thought this movie was stupid.

I don't blame someone for not getting it and especially not being into it, but don't say other people are "wrong" just because of your personal preferences, because then you're no different from the fans of this movie who can't accept the fact that some people don't like 2001, and the vicious cycle of people calling different opinions wrong begins anew

I, for one, don't care if people don't love this film as much as I do, or even if they dislike it.

But, almost without exception, those opinions are given a rationale that would consign to Kubrick various and sundry varieties of ineptitude.

As such, those statements can and should be challenged, especially here.

There is no sort of equivalence of argument and thus no vicious cycle.

For those who might sincerely not get what all the fuss is about, I would gently suggest that they put aside what might just be the blinders of bias and expectation.
Who knows, great rewards may ensue...
